Youth Aspirations and Empowerment Study

IRC conducted a national study of the values, aspirations, challenges and priorities of young people in Bangladesh. Its purpose was to inform policies and programmes that support youth empowerment and participation. The research explored what shapes young people’s beliefs, how much say they have in decisions that affect them, and the role of skills and digital access in their futures. IRC used a participatory mixed-method design. A nationally representative face-to-face survey was combined with an online youth community, community case studies and deliberative workshops, where young people helped validate the findings and develop practical solutions.
