Digital Inclusion and Online Safety Assessment for Marginalized Youth

IRC conducted a baseline study and learning needs assessment to understand how marginalized communities in Bangladesh access and use digital technology. The study covered a wide range of groups: ethnic minorities, tea garden workers, persons with disabilities, transgender people, street-connected children, Bede communities, small-town businesswomen and climate-affected populations. Using a mixed-method design that combined a household survey with focus group discussions and key informant interviews, IRC explored digital access, online safety awareness and skill needs. The evidence helped shape safer, more inclusive digital programmes for girls and young people.
